I love teaching 3rd grade. My kids are old enough to take care of themselves and are independent, but they still love their teacher. The past two weeks have been great. I have a couple of stories that I want to tell, because I want to remember them.
First, I have the cutest little girl, Lucy, in my class. She has this long curly hair and the biggest heart warming smile. She is constantly making me laugh and smile. The other day I had pulled my hair up on top of my head. I always believe that it looks awful, but for some reason my kids love it.
Well, Lucy comes up to me and says, "Miss Jamison, can you fix my hair like yours?" Well of course I had to say yes. Lucy was my Twin for the day! Same hair & cowboys boots! It is an official trademark for my class now. They ask for the "Miss Jamison Do"

Another funny story: My classroom theme is Owls, so my students get "Owl Bucks" They can earn these owl bucks by doing various things in my room. For instance, bringing in their red folders everyday they get an owl buck. They also can buy things from each other or do whatever they wish their "Money". They love this. Well, the other day Lucy came up to me all in a tiff. She says, "Miss Jamison it's just not fair! It's just not fair!" I said, "What's not fair honey?" She says, "Aaron. He's charging me a dollar to wash my board" Side Note: They have white boards they use that they keep under their desks. I pass out their expo markers to them every time we use the boards and take them up when we are done. Aaron has his own markers and expo wash, which is fine with me.
Well, apparently Aaron has been charging all the kids an Owl Buck to wash their boards for them. Haha. I had to tell Lucy I couldn't do anything about it, that Aaron was being a good business man. I sure do love my kids!
We also did angry verbs the other day. An activity that I found on Pinterest. My Kids loved it! They had so much fun writing sentences about the game Angry Birds, while having to find the verbs in their sentences.
I believe that I have mentioned that I absolutely adore the girls I work with, if I haven't I'll say it again, I adore the girls I work with. I become such good friends with all of them. Magen, is the funny silly one. She is always telling the funniest stories and making me laugh. Well she has a thing with mustaches. I went into her room the other day and all her kids, plus her had mustaches on their fingers. Well of course I wanted one too. So.... I Mustache You A Question?
Do you love our mustache? Thank you Magen for always making me laugh and being such a good friend!
The next gal below is my favorite! (No offense to other girls!) But Jennifer is my mentor so she does have a little something over the others :) Jennifer was brought into my life for a reason I know she was. We hit it off the first day at new teacher inservice. She is so kind hearted and is like a big sister/Momma to me. (Depending on what we talk about! Haha Jen) Jennifer has been there for me since day one. Not only do we have a work relationship, we have a friendship that I know will last for a very long time. I'm so glad that I cannot only call her my mentor, but also an awesome friend.
Thank you Jennifer for all you have done and continue to do for me! I love you dearly!
